Rotary Club of Bang Rak was established in 1983 during the year of District Governor Kittichai Yingseri who appointed the Rotary Club of Bangkok South to be the Sponsor Club and Past President Charnchai Wisitkul as Special Representative to form the Rotary Club of Bang Rak.
Rotary Club of Bang Rak received its Charter Certificate from Rotary International on October 22, 1984 with Charter President Phallop Thaiarry who was a former member of the Rotary Club of Bangkok East. The first meeting venue was located at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel with its weekly meetings on Mondays at 12.30 pm. Later the meeting venue was moved to Dusit Thani Hotel, and weekly meetings were scheduled on Thursdays at 12.30pm.
During 1994-95, the weekly meeting venue was moved to Tawanna Bangkok Hotel on Surawong Road on every Thursday at 12.30pm.
During 2016-17, the weekly meeting venue was moved to Evergreen Laurel Hotel on Thursdays at 12.30pm.
During 2019-20, the weekly meeting venue was moved to Holiday Inn Hotel on Thursdays at 12.30pm.
During 2020-21, the weekly meeting venue was moved to Royal Orchid Sheraton on Thursdays at 12.30pm.
The total number of Charter Members is 44. During 2021-22, the total number was increased to 63 members with 6 Honorary Members.

- During 1990-91, Rotary Club of Bang Rak with Rotary Club of Pathumwan founded Rotary Club of Lumpini with Past President Chow Nararidh who was appointed the special representative of District Governor Niwat Chokewanichapong
- During 1993-94, Rotary Club of Silom was founded by Past President Taweesin Devahastin Na Ayudhya who was appointed the special representative of District Governor Wanchai Ekbundit
- During 1994-95, Rotary Club of Bangkok Benjasiri was founded by Past President Sithichoke SriCharoen who was appointed the special representative of District Governor Krit Indhewat and on the occasion of the Rotary Club of Bang Rak’s 10th anniversary.
- During 1995-96, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Dhonburi, Rotary Club of Bangkok Ratchadapisek was founded by President Sitthichoke Sricharoen who was Rotary Club of Bangrak Representative.
- During 2000-2001, in collaboration with Rotary Club of Pathumwan, Past President Narong Joonjuasuparerk founded Rotary Club of Bangkok 70 to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Rotary clubs in Thailand. Past President Narong Joonjuasuparerk was appointed the special representative of District Governor Chow Nararidh for this task.
